The Snapshot Report mechanism allows users to create a report with pre-collected static data to share without having to go through the sometimes lengthy process of live data collection. Benefits include:

  1. Faster load times for large data sets

  2. Seamless viewer experiences

  3. Snapshot reports can be temporary (cleaned out nightly) or made permanent

  4. Reports that capture moment-in-time data for tracking over time

Snapshot reports can be created from different areas of the VividCharts UI when this button is present.

This can found in the following situations:

  • a prompt will appear when clicking on a report from the home page that has filters available.

  • A prompt when opening a View in viewer mode

  • From within the editor

To utilize the Snapshot Report mechanism, first create a view with at least 1 dynamic filter. This dynamic filter must be applied to the slide deck.

To create a Snapshot Report, there are 3 steps to complete.

First: Name the Snapshot Report and select the report that you want to create it from. When possible, this report will be pre-selected.

Next: choose if you want the report to be permanent or not. If set to OFF, the report will be auto-deleted 24 hours after it's created.

Finally:

Select the filters that you want to be present on the Snapshot Report.

One chosen, click 'Create Snapshot Report' and that's it!
You should see a message that your report has been successfully created.

After creating a Snapshot Report, it can be found in the 'My Snapshot Reports' collection from the home page.

To view the deletion time of a report if it is not flagged as permanent, simply hover over the “Triangle” icon next to the view icon and its deletion time will be displayed.
