Collection
A grouping or folder of Slide Decks, Dashboards, Scaled Reports, or links that can be edited or viewed. Collections can be favorited for easy access, shared, and created by VividCharts builders.

Reports

In version 1.8.0 the term Views was replaced with Reports, and in has been used in all version since 1.8.0


Reports are stored in Collections. A report includes one or more slides made in the Editor. A report can exist in just 1 or multiple Collections. All reports that a user creates are automatically stored in the default Collection 'Your Reports'. Views can be starred for easy access within a Collection.

Editor
The space where a user creates and makes changes to a report.

Chart
The primary element that can be placed on a slide.



Slide(s)
Elements such as charts are placed on slides. There can be multiple slides in a report; they can be copied and deleted individually.


Filter(s)
Used to apply certain conditions to reports.

Viewer
Reports can be previewed in the Viewer. The filter panel is used to add filters and other functions. The Viewer can be reached inside a report, in a Collection, or in a URL sent to an end-user.

View Access
Ability for users to look at a report.

Edit Access

Ability for users to interact with and change a report.

Chart Template

Pre-made charts that can be reused without having to reconfigure the data or styles.

Template

In version 1.8.0 the term templates were introduced, and the previous concept of View Templates and Summary Templates was removed. This simplified what a template was and where they are accessed for users.

Reusable assets that include charts, data, styles, and slides.

Scaled Reports

In version 1.8.0 Scaled Reports was introduced, which replaced the previous concept of 'Summaries'. The terminology change, but so did the entire experience of creating scaled reports.

A set of reports that have been generated using the Scaled Reports workflow. Many reports are generated based on a single blueprint and set of user-defined conditions.

Snapshot Reports

In version 1.9.0 the Snapshot Reports feature was updated and renamed to Snapshot Reports to more accurately define what the feature provided. It was previously called 'Report Generator'

A set of reports that can be created from another report that contains filters. A user can filter the report and create a snapshot which will capture the data in a moment in time. This can be great for comparing data over time.

Bookmark

A bookmark is mechanism that lets users quickly and easily display the reports they need. For example, users can create a bookmark that redirects to a specific report with a specific set of filters already applied.
