Why your organization should upgrade to VividCharts 1.8.0
Summary:
The Northern Dancer 1.8.0 release of VividCharts has some changes that will expand upon the workflows that were introduced in the 1.7.0 release. The biggest changes are a rework of the Scaled Reports workflow. The following are some bullet points to highlight:
Terminology has changed in the application, so if you are used to seeing ‘Summaries’ in the past, you will now see them called ‘Scaled Reports’
Managing, finding and using summary templates is no longer a part of the workflow.
Everything to create, edit and generate your scaled reports happens in a centralized location within the app.
If you currently have a summary, this release will change your experience working with that summary. Those creations will be transitioned into the new workflow and found under the ‘Scaled Reports’ page.

Upgrading to the Northern Dancer 1.8.0 release
Here is a list of steps we recommend you take to help you plan for and upgrade to the Northern Dancer 1.8.0 version.
Review and compile a list of active Summaries and Summary Templates
Identify which instance the templates were created in, for example dev, test or production.
Confirm how those templates were moved into production, if they were not originally built in the production environment.
Identifying what environments you will test the upgrade to Northern Dancer 1.8.0.
Verify that previous slide decks, dashboards, summaries and VividCharts reports have been backed up as is consistent with your development processes.
Identify who is responsible for testing and verifying each of your Summaries and Summary Templates has transitioned as expected, within your chosen test environment.
