This feature was released in the Northern Dancer 1.8.0 release of VividCharts
The who, when and what about email notifications for sharing access permissions:
Who
Any user who is added to the 'users' list will be sent a notification via email that they have received those permissions. We do not send notifications to groups, roles or all logged in users.
When
The emails go will go out immediately to any new user added to the list.
Emails go out independently for the view and edit permissions, so if you add a user to both lists they will receive two separate emails.
Email notifications only get sent when then following system property is set to 'true', x_vivid_vc_core.enable_email_notifications
If you want to disable this behavior, turn the system property value to 'false'. After this change, the checkbox to notify new recipients about access changes will not be available.
What
The emails provide the user who shared the permission, the type of permission being shared and a link to the report.
Shared edit permissions will provide a link to the VividCharts editor.
Shared view permissions will provide a link to the VividCharts viewer.
Sharing view permissions on a published report, with email notifications.
