A Half Donut Chart, also known as a Half Pie Chart, is a data visualization technique that represents data in a circular format, similar to a Pie Chart, but only half of a circle is filled with data. Half Donut Charts are useful for displaying percentages or proportions in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand manner, particularly when you want to emphasize a particular segment of the data or compare two categories.

The Half Donut example below is looking at Incidents by Priority.

Now, let's look at the Data and Chart options for this Half Donut. This Half Donut is displaying Incident data, so it will be utilizing the incident table.

Conditions: Setting conditions allows you to query the table you are building the chart off of.

Group by: allows users to organize and aggregate data based on specific fields or criteria.

Aggregate Type: Refers to a data aggregation method or function used to combine or summarize data from multiple records. They allow users to perform calculations on sets of records to derive meaningful insights. Some common aggregate types include:

  1. Count: Calculates the number of records in a set.

  2. Count Distinct: counts the number of unique, non-duplicated values in a field.3

  3. Sum: Adds up the values of a specified field for a set of records.

  4. Average: Computes the average value of a specified field for a set of records.

  5. Minimum: Finds the minimum value of a specified field in a set of records.

  6. Maximum: Determines the maximum value of a specified field in a set of records.

Sort by: Allows user to determine the order of the list. Sort by can set as Value Descending, Value Ascending, Alphabetically Descending, Alphabetically Ascending.

The Add center score toggle is engaged to display the total number of Incidents below the Half Donut.

Next, let's look at some styling options that have been changed from the default styling options to give this Half Donut some more clarity. A custom title of "Incidents by Priority" is set to quickly understand what data the Half Donut is displaying.

Next, the Data Values toggle is engaged, displaying the total number of Incidents per Priority in the Half Donut.

Finally, the Display Legend and Data percentages toggles are engaged.
