What is the difference between a Pre-Filter and a Filter on a Summary?

Pre-Filter

A Pre-Filter is used when configuring a Summary and defined on step 4 on the configuration. The Pre-Filter dictates which records are generated when the summary is generated or re-generated during the daily refresh.

For example, if we wanted a Summary with all active projects, we could set the Pre-Filter as Active IS True. Now, this Summary has an initial pool of records showing only the active projects.

Filters

Filters can be configured on a Summary after the initial configuration of the Summary (Pre-Filters included). Filters are configurable options that will further narrow the initial pool of records which were defined by the Pre-Filter. These filters are able to be utilized by the user and are configurable by the user through the UI.

The filters which are configured are also the filters available on the launcher when a summary is opened in view mode.
