Summary

The Copy & Paste feature allows users to quickly duplicate individual elements—like charts—within the same slide, across different slides, and even across completely different reports. This eliminates the need to recreate elements from scratch, saving time and ensuring consistency in reporting.

Capabilities

  • Copy and paste any report element (e.g., charts, shapes) within the same slide.

  • Copy and paste elements from one slide to another within the same report.

  • Copy and paste elements from one report to a completely different report.

  • Retains both data settings and style settings of the element when copied. But it does not copy any of the actual data of a chart, just the data settings.

  • Use familiar keyboard shortcuts:

    • Mac: Command + C to copy, Command + V to paste

    • Windows: Ctrl + C to copy, Ctrl + V to paste

  • Visualize all report elements via the Element List (element tree) to manage overlapping or layered items.

Benefits

  • Saves time by eliminating the need to recreate charts and other elements.

  • Improves consistency across slides and reports by reusing styled elements.

  • Boosts productivity when working on complex reports or collaborating with others.

  • Enhances visibility with the element tree, making it easier to manage and move items on the canvas.

  • Simplifies editing by allowing a builder to easily tweak copied charts for different datasets or labels.
