Summary

The Chart Type Defaults feature allows you to save the custom styles applied to a specific chart (like a horizontal bar chart) and use them as the default style for all future charts of that type within the same report. This ensures consistency in appearance and saves time when building multiple charts.

What You Can Do with Chart Type Defaults

  • Customize a chart’s appearance (e.g., borders, colors, fonts).

  • Save those custom settings as the default for that chart type.

  • Automatically apply the saved default style to new charts of the same type.

  • Create reports with a consistent visual style effortlessly.

Benefits of Using Chart Type Defaults

  • Consistency: Ensures all charts of the same type follow the same visual style across your report.

  • Efficiency: Speeds up the report creation process by reusing styling choices.

  • Customization: Lets you tailor the look of your reports to match branding or readability preferences.

  • Professional Appearance: Helps maintain a clean and cohesive design throughout your report.

Tip: After styling your chart, click Style → Save as Chart Type Defaults, then confirm. Any new chart of the same type added to the report will automatically use your saved style.
