The video demonstration goes through the following:

Overview of the Chart Setup: Demonstrates a chart built using demo data from a custom table created to show some example KPI values.

Example of the final output

Conditional Formatting Conditions: Each column in the chart is assigned specific conditions:

  • KPI 1: Values greater than a reference (e.g., the "target" column).

  • KPI 2: Values equal to a specific value.

  • KPI 3: Values less than a reference.

Demonstration of setting up the nested list and conditions

  1. Custom Table and Grouping: The example uses a custom KPI table, with data grouped by the "target" field to organize the chart into nested groups.

  2. Adding Columns: Three columns (KPI 1, KPI 2, KPI 3) are added to the table, with functionality like pagination and interactivity enabled.

  3. Styling Columns: Applying conditional formatting using a "Column Formatting" tool:

    • KPI 1: Highlights values greater than the "target" column in light gray.

    • KPI 3: Highlights values less than the "target" column in blue.

    • KPI 1: Highlights values equal to 79 in green.

  4. Multiple Conditional Formatting: The chart supports multiple conditions within a single column or across multiple columns.

  5. Flexible Comparisons: Conditions can compare values directly against:

    • A specific numeric value (e.g., 80, 79).

    • Another column within the dataset (e.g., the "target" column).

  6. Use of Formatting: Conditional formatting is visualized using distinct colors (e.g., gray, blue, green) to represent various conditions, however many other formatting options are also available.
