Turn a Template into a Summary Template for Project Status
Step 1:
Open “Apps” from the Left-Hand Navigation Bar. Select 'Project Status Hub'

Step 2:
Select “View all Summaries”

Step 3:
Select "Template Builder"

Step 4:
Complete the Template builder per below instructions:
Title: (Title of Summary Template) "Project Status Summary"
Description: (Description of Summary Template) "PMO team branded Summary"
Image: Upload the previously saved image of the Project Status Template
Select from templates: (Name of template being used for Summary) "Project Status Summary"
Customer Facing: Toggle ON
Template feature groups: Select “Project Status App”
Select table and assign data path: Map each table used in the template by specifying the relationship to the Project record.
Table = project_status
Location ID (Primary) = project
Location ID (Secondary) = sys_id
Table = pm_project
Location ID (Primary) = sys_id
Location ID (Secondary) = false
Verify the data path between the other tables used on the template. Common additional tables used are:
pm_project_task
risk
issue
dmn_decision
project_action
project_change_request
To determine the relationship between the table and the Project record, we need to find which field relates back to the Project record. To do this, go the the table in ServiceNow, click on the gear icon to add columns Task, Parent, or Top Task (where applicable). Check that a project is connected to at least Task, Parent, or Top Task and use that location.
In this example, we are looking at the Risk table. We will use Task as the Primary Location ID because the task field relates back to the Project record. Since the Primary Location ID directly relates to the Project record, the Secondary Location ID is ‘false’.
Table = risk
Location ID (Primary) = task
Location ID (Secondary) = false
*Note: For any table where the Primary Location ID directly maps to the Project record, the Secondary Location ID is always false.
Step 5:
Once all tables used in the template have a data path assigned, select the 'Submit' Button, then 'Back to Home'
